This is classical Liberal Fear Mongering at its worst. No recession is irreversible. Hell, no depression is irreversible - unless the market isn't allowed to correct due to meddling by people like those in CONgress that have no freaking clue what they are doing.
Because each day we wait to begin the work of turning our economy around, more people lose their jobs, their savings and their homes. And if nothing is done, this recession might linger for years. Our economy will lose 5 million more jobs. Unemployment will approach double digits. Our nation will sink deeper into a crisis that, at some point, we may not be able to reverse. - Barack Obama
So if you can tell me how massive spending of money that we do not have, incurring all manner of interest expense that we must pay off for the forseeable future, paying for STD Prevention, causing a trade war by demanding American products only be bought by the Government (further increasing our debt as a number of products are produced and imported less expensively from overseas), putting wireless internet access into rural areas, allowing mayors around the country to spend billions of dollars to build dog parks, museums, and other worthless un-stimulative pet projects (and no, constructing a building or building a road is not stimulative - it is a temporary employment measure that does nothing to create PERMANENT jobs for Americans), will NOT create a "recession...we may not be able to reverse", I'll eat my hat.
Creating more infrastructure and crap to maintain, when we can not afford to maintain what we have with our current budgeting process, all while meddling with the market and causing disruption by pretending we are going to do something effective and attempting to keep bankrupt home owners and companies in business (hint: they're hemorrhaging money for a reason, and it's not because they just need a quick boost of cash)....THAT, my friends, is what will create a DEPRESSION we can not reverse.
These spending packages will bankrupt the country. Maybe not in the next couple of years, but adding the amount of overhead that this package, and the various idiotic socialistic health care schemes they're pushing now, as well as trying to create a market for more expensive "renewable energy" products that can not survive in the wild without continued Government money to keep them propped up will sink us.
If you haven't contacted your Senators yet and told them that you DO NOT WANT a spending package that your children, grand-children, and their grand-children will be paying off for EONS, why not?
Get on the horn and tell your representatives you're tired of the same old spending in Washington and you want a change now!
